First off… Let’s get this straight! It ain’t a SECRET!
Whew! There, I said it. There isn’t ONE SINGLE Secret that will make your business successful on the Internet. Internet Gurus all over the world (yea, me included) want you to think there’s some big hairy secret that only they know, that prevents you from making money on the Internet.
The honest-to-goodness fact is, there is NOT one secret that will make you money on the internet, there are several. Unless you’re willing to use the strategies and tips you get online, mix up what works for you and let the rest go, you’re NEVER going to make money online. And, that, my friend is the reality.
So what does work?
The following tips and strategies work well. Some gurus use all of them, others use part of them, and some aficionados of independence have struck out on their own to create their own methods. You’ll have to determine for yourself (with the help of a kindly and wonderful marketing guide) which tips and strategies will work for you.
Get a website. For goodness sakes, take some cash out of your Starbucks fund and buy a domain. Set up a hosting plan and do what you have to do to get a professionally designed website that YOU can add to and increase the content, for better marketing genius.
Get the word out. Your website isn’t a secret. Tell your friends, put a message on all your email signatures, referring people to your site, send out a press release. Put up a Bill Board in New York City, but get the word out.
Get content in there. Add some impressive, unique, and information providing content to that website so readers have a reason to stick around. Give them something to do while they’re there. Put some quality on the site and build some context that will bring them back.
Get some traffic flowing. Put up a few ads, write some articles for marketing, and send out some feelers on the Internet that will drive traffic to your website. You can’t get anywhere if you’re not on Main Street. Get there, with CONTENT, Keywords, and MARKETING.
Get serious about sales. You know, everyone wants to do something that requires NO SALES. Okay, but where is the money if you’re NOT SELLING? Give me a break. Somebody has to SELL something before money changes hands. SELL something!
